One point that the automaker made was they are coming up and for union contracts. Well if the government include a universal health plan the auto industry can increase the wages and create more jobs. It would be a trade off between the industry and the government that would only better serve the employees which will in turn help the economy.<br /><br /><br />P.S. Andre why do you seem to dehumanize the fact, people losing everything they have is a tremendous thing to realize, it could possibly be the most unhealthy consequence for a person. Your whole life taken because you can't pay the bill. Your car is taken or you go without insurance and get it towed with no money to get it out so now you pay for it to be in towing and pay the automakers but because there is no more money your credit score falls and now trying to start a business is out of the question.<br /><br />Unless you've felt that don't come on the show and say "company's have filed for bankruptcy and came out the better for it."
